“Rainbow of Hope” is our Parish’s outreach program to the St. Ann’s Orphanage in Guyana, South America. As a response to the needs of the poor and underprivileged in 2000 we decided to reach-out to St. Ann’s Orphanage, our namesake. The Ursuline Sisters, Sr. Eileen Finnerty’s Community, have run St. Ann’s Orphanage for over 150 years.
Through education, St. Ann’s Orphanage helps the girls to become self-sufficient and break out of poverty and the abusive cycles of their families. There are approximately 50 girls in the orphanage, ages 3 thru 17. The Orphanage is totally dependent on private contributions. We are proud to inform you that our Parish community is their largest contributor.
Our gifts continue to provide vital needs for the orphanage including school tuition, clothing, better nutrition, medical care and even renovations that improve the living atmosphere for the girls.
We thank those Parishioners who have so generously supported the Orphanage over the years. Our new yearly campaign was started September 2016 and so far we have raised $7,856. Your generous sacrifices have allowed the Orphanage Committee to send $14,420 for the 2015-2016 annual appeal.
If you are not already part of the “Rainbow of Hope”, and wish to come on board, please drop off a contribution at the Rectory or place it in an envelope marked "Rainbow of Hope" and drop it in the weekly collection.
No contribution is too small and if you can’t contribute monetarily, we ask for your prayers for the children at St. Ann’s Orphanage. In the name of Jesus, we are the hope of the poor for Jesus said: “What you do for the least of my little ones, you do for Me”.
